Self Development Tools: Blogging

“I want to write a blog post, but where do I even start?”

I have been there. So many times.

That feeling when your thoughts are swirling, your fingers are hovering over the keyboard… and you convince yourself that maybe tomorrow is a better day to write.

But here’s what shifted things for me, and maybe it will help you too.

# Don’t chase the perfect topic, instead capture a real moment. One of my best-performing posts came from a WhatsApp chat with my favourite author when i was confused on an important choice . I turned that conversation into a blog titled, "Who Are We?"

Real conversations = relatable content.

# Write like you're talking to someone specific. I imagine I am writing to my younger self, or a student I just met.
That’s when my tone softens. I use words like “you will feel this” instead of “it is observed that.” (Who talks like that anyway?)

# Messy is magic – at first.
I once wrote a blog draft entirely in bullet points and half sentences while commuting. It was awful. But it was a start. I edited it later with coffee and calm and it worked. Give yourself permission to be messy first.

# End with a heartbeat. I try to wrap up with a question, a reflection, or even a small dare.
Like: “What’s one thought you haven’t shared yet, because it feels too small? Write it anyway.”

Because sometimes, the smallest thoughts spark the biggest connections.

So if you are stuck on writing your next blog pause, breathe, and ask yourself:
“What story do I wish someone had written for me?”

Start there. That’s your blog post.

And if you need a sounding board, my inbox is always open
