A Voice That Stays With You (World Book Day Reflection) - By Aditi Gosalia

A Voice That Stays With You
World Book Day Reflection
- By Aditi Gosalia

Some books don’t sit on your shelf.
They sit within you. They don’t just inform you.

They transform you—quietly, consistently, and often without you even realizing it.

This World Book Day, I found myself thinking not just about books…
but about voices.

The kind of voices that don’t end when the last page turns.

The kind that stay, guide, and gently shape who you are becoming.

For me, one such voice has always been Dr. Swati Lodha— my mentor and my favourite author, and someone whose  words and gestures have influenced me far beyond the pages she writes.

More Than Words, A Way of Thinking
There are authors you read.

And then there are authors who seem to read you. Her writing has never felt like instruction. It has always felt like a conversation— one that meets you exactly where you are.

Whether it is about parenting, self-awareness, leadership, or simply understanding life better, understand your self better.

She doesn't overwhelm with what she says or does.

She helps you unfold.
Gently. Thoughtfully. Honestly.

And somewhere between those pages, something shifts.
You pause. You reflect.
You begin to see things differently.

The Power of Simple, Honest Truths
What I have always admired is the simplicity of her message.

No jargon. No complexity for the sake of sounding profound.

Just clarity.

Because real wisdom does not confuse.
It connects. And that is what makes her work so powerful— it reaches across age, experience, and roles.

A student trying to find direction.
A professional navigating choices.
A parent understanding relationships.

She meets everyone differently, yet meaningfully.

A Mentor Beyond the Classroom

In my own journey—as an educator, a trainer, and someone deeply invested in shaping young minds, I have often seen how her thoughts come alive in real conversations.

Students don’t just need knowledge.
They need guidance that feels real.
They need someone who doesn’t just tell them what to do—
but helps them understand why.

And that’s what her work does.
It doesn’t push.It nudges.
It doesn’t instruct. It awakens.

For youth and women especially, her voice carries a quiet strength—one that builds confidence without noise.

When a Book Becomes a Companion

There are certain books you revisit.
Not because you forgot what they said,
but because you want to feel what they made you feel.
That sense of clarity.
That sense of grounding.

That sense of “I understand myself a little better now.”

One such book for me has been Come On! Get Set Go!— a powerful work authored by Dr. Swati Lodha.

It isn’t just a book you read once and keep aside.

It becomes a companion you return to—
at different stages, for different reasons, and always finding something new.

World Book Day: A Personal Pause

World Book Day is often about celebrating reading.

But today, I chose to pause and reflect on something deeper.

The impact of a voice.

The power of thoughtful words.
The quiet influence of someone who helps you grow without even being in the room.

Because the best books don’t just sit beside you. They walk with you.

Gratitude for a Guiding Voice

In a world that is often loud, fast, and overwhelming, finding a voice that is calm, clear, and consistent is a gift.

A voice that reminds you:
to pause, to reflect, to move forward with intention

And for me, that voice has been my mentor—Dr. Swati Lodha.

And as I reflect today, one message continues to stay with me—simple, powerful, and timeless:

Come On! Get Set Go!
Not just as the title of her book…
but as a way of living.

A gentle reminder that no matter where we are— we can always begin again.
