Your Person Pod Series : Emotional Intelligence

Emotional Intelligence

"Half a glass of water on the table". I say , half the glass is empty but you say ..aah , half glass is full.

These are  our individual perceptions of looking at life &  stem from our thought process.

Our emotional equilibrium is based on our thought processes which in turn stem out of experiences  Some become demanding and others become minimalistic.

Striking an integration here is nothing but #Emotional #Intelligence. Is about being able to  recognize, understand, manage, and effectively express one's own emotions, as well as the ability to perceive, interpret, and respond appropriately to the emotions of others.

Let's break it down...

#Self-#Awareness  involves being in tune with your own emotions, strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals.

For instance, recognizing when you're feeling stressed taking steps to calm yourself down, such as deep breathing or positive self-talk.

Once you're aware of your emotions, #Self-#Regulation allows you to control and manage them appropriately.

Say , a negative feedback at work, instead of reacting defensively, you might pause, reflect on the feedback, and respond constructively.

#Self-#Motivated individuals have a strong drive to achieve their goals. Motivation is never an external resource to keep your mind in place.

For instance, Interview rejection, use the setback as motivation to improve

#Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. It involves active listening, perspective-taking, and showing compassion.

For instance, if a friend is going through a difficult time, you might empathize by listening without judgment, offering support, and validating their feelings.

#Social #Skills involves effectively managing relationships, communicating clearly, resolving conflicts, and building rapport with others.

It could simply be a team leader who fosters a positive work environment by encouraging open communication, providing constructive feedback, and mediating conflicts to promote collaboration and productivity.

Developing emotional intelligence can lead to stronger relationships, better communication, and improved overall well-being.

But how?  So, here is how in five easy steps:

1. Relationships - No matter where life takes you, keep the communication consistent. For the ones that matter to you, take the lead.

Step 3  Accept there is a change
Step 4: Accept the change itself
Step 5  Meditate and Practice

5. Journaling : Pen down your day to get alkaline  your system. Iron out by resolving the aspects that seem to create a baggage within. If the situation is beyond your control, upgrade your subconscious.
